Beyoncé made her third appearance at London’s O2 Arena last night (Wednesday 1 May) on the UK leg of her 46 date Mrs Carter World Tour. Justifiably, this is the hottest ticket in town, and MTV were more than content to behold the beautiful Queen B.

Feeling: Before Mrs Jay Z made her grand entrance, her two current campaigns for H&M and Pepsi were played, as well as an advert for ‘Chime For Change’. If in any doubt, the audience were made aware that they were about to witness a global brand, human mannequin and living legend.

The Look: Each of Beyoncé’s outfits were showstopping, with designers such as Pucci, Julien Macdonald and Dsquared2 all contributing to her looks. The standout design was a sheer red floor length gown that she wore for the track Freakum Dress, with her dancers wearing the same dress but in alternate rainbow colours.

Tunes: Nothing set the crowd alight quite like Crazy In Love which was directly followed by Single Ladies. Bey’s new single – which features on the aforementioned Pepsi advert – was also a highlight, with its infectious drum beat and booming vocal. Mash ups of The Verve’s Bitter Sweet Symphony with If I Were A Boy were also effective, as was Diva mixed with Kanye West’s Clique.

Celeb Spots: With Rita Ora, Jay Z and real life royal – Princess Eugenie – at the O2 the night before, showbiz spotters were not disappointed with Kelly Brook, Katherine Jenkins and Miss Kim Kardashian all in attendance for the show.

Banter: Beyoncé thanked her fans for “loving me with my imperfections” as she pointed at her ‘bingo wings’, to which Beyoncé’s beehive of loyal supporters gasped and shouted “You’re perfect B!” “We love you!” etc.

Sweat Factor: Thanks to the O2’s prolific air conditioning system, perspiration was minimal.

Summary: The Mrs Carter show fulfills all expectations. With a varied set of ballads and booty shakers, and an array of surprises in store, this is one performance sure to keep any punter entertained. Queen B wholly deserves her title, and will remain on her throne for years to come.

MTV Rating: We give it 5 stars
