Beyoncé and Jay-Z were ridiculed at first for naming their daughter after the color blue, but it seems to have grown on everyone since seeing her photos and the immense love this couple shares for their baby girl.
Bey has been spotted wearing the slightest amounts of blue for most appearances and various outings in honor of her little one, so it’s no surprise that Blue has got a deeper significance than just being named after a tree the duo encountered on a trip.
The ‘4’ artist posted up an excerpt on her site from Rebecca Solnit’s “Field Guide to Getting Lost” that explained the importance and origins of the color blue on our earth, in our skies and in the seas. It was a typed out paragraph in blue text, without any explanation or words of wisdom from Beyoncé herself– but the deep thoughts from Rebecca said it all.
Part of the last sentence reads “The light that gets lost, gives us the beauty of the world, so much of which is in the color blue.” You know that there are probably plenty more deep thoughts and references to the color that they used in the power of naming their daughter after the blue hue.
