Beyonce is no stranger to the NAACP Image Awards, as she has won 2 at this years preshow for Outstanding Female Artist and Outstanding Album of the Year (Cowboy Carter). This brings her total to 27 NAACP Image Awards throughout her career. She still has one nomination to be announced, which is 16 Carriages in the Outstanding Soul/R&B Song category.
But Bey isn’t the only one going home with a trophy. Blue Ivy Carter, won tonight for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance (Motion Picture) for Mufasa: The Lion King.
The Image Awards, which honor the year’s best in Black achievement and excellence, will continue Friday with a Creative Arts ceremony ahead of Saturday’s main ceremony at the Pasadena Civic Center, airing live on BET and CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
