FEW have captivated the world like Vogue’s May cover star Beyoncé Knowles. Few have been so adulated or adored, and yet remained so steadfast in protecting their mystery. Few have withstood the rigours of a stellar career and survived so unscathed. Read the rest of this entry »

According E! News Beyoncé and Andre 3000 aka 3 Stacks will once again collaborate. The two will be covering Amy Winehouse’s “Back To Black” from her 2nd album Back To Black.

“E! News can exclusively reveal that the “Single Ladies” hitmaker has teamed up with Andre 3000 for a duet of the late singer’s “Back to Black” for the soundtrack of the upcoming remake of The Great Gatsby.

This is Beyoncé and Andre 3000 second time working together. They first collaborated on Bey’s 2011 single, “Party.”

The new flick, directed by Baz Luhrman, stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire. Originally set to be in theaters last Christmas, the release was pushed to this May. Gatsby will have its world premiere as the opening night film of the Cannes Film Festival on May 15.”

This will most certainly be epic since Mr. Carter aka Jay-Z will be producing the score for this film.

Bun B premiered the remix on Houston’s KBXX’s 97.9 The Box today (March 29) then quickly posted it on his soundcloud page. “I Been On” Remix features Texas’ own Bun B, Z-Ro, Scarface, Willie D, Slim Thug, Lil Keke! Listen below:

The artwork features a tiara-wearing Beyoncé Knowles, age 10 or so, in a room crammed with trophies. The lyrics make the message clear:

“I’m the number-one chick, I don’t need no hype.”

Musically, this Hit Boy-produced diptych is a homage to B’s hometown, Houston, with a woozy “Bow Down” beat that segues into a chopped-and-screwed rap. In “I Been On,” her voice is pitch-shifted to make her sound like a 400-pound thug as she gets in touch with her inner Pimp C:

“Gold everything/Gold-ass chain/Gold-ass rings/Gold-ass fangs”

All in all, it’s her most aggressive song ever: a shot at the diva competition and a warning to anyone who’d take the wrong message from the title of her forthcoming LP, Mrs. Carter:

“I took some time to live my life/But don’t think I’m just his little wife.”

When she sings, she growls; when she raps, she sneers. Bow down – or at least take cover. To check it out on Rolling Stone click here.
