Nominations for the 40th American Music Awards were announced yesterday.
Beyonce is nominated for "Favourite Female Artist Soul/R&B" along with Mary J. Blige and Rihanna.
Christina Aguilera, who announced the nods Tuesday morning in L.A., is also the first performer announced for the telecast, which airs live from the Nokia Theatre on Nov. 18 at 8 p.m.

Nominees have just been announced for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). With a strong three nominations, Beyonce is nominated for Best Female Video thanks to "Love On Top." Her video for "Countdown" rounds out her set with categories including Best Choreography.
