While not available for purchase, Beyonce’s “Formation,” which she released on YouTube Feb. 6 and then performed on the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show Feb. 7, makes a noteworthy start at R&B/hip-hop radio.

Even though the song has yet to be officially promoted to radio stations by its label, Columbia, the song arrives as Beyonce’s highest career debut on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart (dated Feb. 27), entering at No. 11 with 16.3 million in audience (from 88 stations that played the song), according to Nielsen Music. Beyonce previously started at a high of No. 14 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay as featured (with Lil Wayne) on Usher’s “Love in This Club Part II” in 2008. As a lead artist, she tops her prior best beginning of No. 20 with “Singles Ladies (Put a Ring on It”), also in 2008. “Ladies” would become her longest-leading (12 weeks) of seven No. 1s on the chart.

On the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop chart (which, with Adult R&B Songs, combines to form the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay panel), “Formation” launches at No. 17. Genre airplay also pushes the track to a No. 18 debut on the Hot R&B Songs tally.

Beyoncé’s debut solo album Dangerously In Love has now sold more than 5 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music.

The effort, released in 2003, sold just over 2,000 copies in the week ending Dec. 24, bringing its cumulative total across the 5 million mark. It remains Beyoncé’s best-selling solo effort.

Dangerously In Love opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and was the first of so-far five No. 1 albums for the diva. All of her full-length studio efforts have reached the top slot, and all of them have sold at least a million copies: B’Day (released in 2006, 3.41 million sold), I Am… Sasha Fierce (2008, 3.2 million), 4 (2011, 1.5 million) and her self-titled album (2013; 2.3 million). So far, Beyoncé has sold 16 million solo albums in the U.S.

In addition, Beyonce has visited the top of the Billboard 200 and sold millions as part of Destiny’s Child. The group notched two No. 1s with Survivor and the greatest hits collection #1s. Destiny’s Child has four million-selling albums (including their biggest: The Writing’s On the Wall, with 6.4 million), while their total album sales stand at 17.5 million.

Beyonce is collaboration with longtime fashion designer Giuseppe Zanotti! Many times, Bey has been spotted wearing things from Zanotti’s collections, my favorite being the boots she wore at the 2010 Grammys during her performance.

An artist that goes by the name of Beyoncé, also has her first shoe in collaboration with Zanotti coming out, scheduled for release within one or two weeks. “I’m doing a shoe with Beyoncé right now,” Giuseppe tells me while showing me an image of a sketch, from his phone. I’m not able to see what the final product will turn out like exactly, but going by the sketch, Beyoncé has a thing for ultra thick platform stilettos. “Beyoncé has very clear ideas – she knows exactly what she wants. The thing which she then also has over other celebrities, is that she has an amazing voice. She’s incredibly talented and she’s an amazing dancer – she’s complete. Few are like Beyoncé,” the designer says about the multiple Grammy award-winning artist he has known ever since her Destiny’s Child days. “I’m working on finalizing the shoe with her stylist right now. And Beyoncé will then say what she likes and what she doesn’t like. It will be one shoe only,” Zanotti concludes with regards to the shoe that will certainly get the BeyHive craving.
